Overview

The Community Mobilization Intern is responsible for rooting the Planet Run movement deeply within local neighborhoods. This role is about grassroots advocacy—taking the message of "We Heal the Earth" into living rooms, community halls, and street corners. You will work to transform passive residents into active participants and environmental stewards. This is a field-intensive role suited for those who are passionate about social psychology, community development, and civic engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with key community pillars such as Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), and religious leaders.

  • Organize and lead small-scale neighborhood walks, door-to-door campaigns, and street meetings to explain the impact of the Planet Run.

  • Directly mobilize families and local residents to register for the run and participate in associated activities like tree plantation.

  • Collect community feedback on local environmental issues (e.g., waste spots, water shortage) to ensure the Planet Run addresses relevant local concerns.

  • Adapt the core message of sustainability into local languages and cultural contexts to ensure maximum resonance.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong influencing skills to convince diverse demographics to join a cause.

  • Fluency in the local language is highly advantageous; English proficiency is needed for reporting.

  • Social Work, Sociology, Political Science, or Development Studies students.

  • Ability to handle rejection and maintain enthusiasm during field campaigning.
