Overview
As a Field Coordination & Volunteer Management Intern, you will be the bridge between the Planet Run core strategy and the community force that executes it. This role focuses on human resource management in a non-profit context, requiring you to recruit, train, and motivate a diverse group of volunteers ranging from college students to local residents. You will build the "human infrastructure" that makes the Planet Run possible.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and onboard volunteers from colleges, corporate partners, and local communities through drives and orientation sessions.
Conduct pre-run briefings to explain roles (marshals, hydration support, registration desk) and assign duties based on volunteer strengths.
Act as the primary team leader for volunteer groups on the ground, ensuring they remain motivated, hydrated, and effective throughout the event.
Maintain an accurate database of volunteer hours and participation for certification and recognition purposes.
Handle any on-ground interpersonal issues or scheduling conflicts that arise among the volunteer workforce.
Skills & Qualifications
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to command respect and motivate large groups.
Clear verbal communication for briefings and conflict resolution.
NSS / NCC cadets, Social Work students, or HR aspirants are ideal candidates.
Ability to understand volunteer needs and ensure a positive experience for them.
