Overview

The Planet Run Event Operations Intern is the backbone of the on-ground execution for the "We Heal the Earth" movement. This role goes beyond simple volunteering; it involves the strategic planning and logistical management required to pull off large-scale sustainability runs. You will work closely with the core operations team to transform public spaces into vibrant hubs of environmental action. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and want to learn how to manage large crowds, complex logistics, and event safety protocols while driving a social cause.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the end-to-end planning of Planet Run events, including route mapping, venue selection, and obtaining necessary local permissions.

  • Oversee the procurement and setup of event infrastructure such as stages, sound systems, hydration stations, and waste collection points.

  • executing the crowd control plan, managing start/finish lines, and ensuring the safety of all participants along the run route.

  • Act as a point of contact for external vendors, local municipal workers, and emergency response teams (ambulance/police) during the event.

  • Ensure the event remains "Zero Waste" by managing segregation stations and coordinating with recycling partners for post-event cleanup.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to think on your feet and solve logistical problems in real-time.

  • Proficiency in scheduling, inventory tracking, and resource allocation.

  • Students from Event Management, Operations, Sports Management, or Social Work backgrounds are highly preferred.

  • Willingness to work outdoors and handle physical tasks during event setup and teardown.
