Overview
The Planet Run needs to be front-page news. The PR & Media Outreach Intern works to amplify the movement's voice through traditional media channels. You will act as the bridge between the event and the press, working to secure coverage in newspapers, TV channels, and online news portals to boost credibility and reach.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain a database of journalists, editors, and influencers in the target districts.
Proactively pitch stories and press invites to journalists to secure coverage for events.
Write and disseminate formal press releases before and after events.
Manage the media registration desk at events and guide journalists to key spokespeople for interviews.
Track and clip all media coverage received for the "Media Dossier."
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; persuasive phone manner.
Ability to build rapport with media professionals.
Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, or Marketing students.
Understanding of what constitutes a PR risk.
