Overview
This role is the scientific conscience of the Planet Run. As a Sustainability & Environment Intern, you ensure that the event walks the talk. You will oversee the environmental interventions—such as tree planting and waste audits—ensuring they are executed with technical correctness and genuine impact. You will help quantify how much "healing" the earth actually received from our movement.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise tree plantation drives to ensure correct species selection (native trees) and planting techniques for high survival rates.
Lead the "Green Team" during events to audit waste generation, manage segregation, and weigh the recyclables collected.
Gather primary data on local environmental parameters (e.g., air quality index, biodiversity spots) to create "State of the Environment" snapshots for the district.
Conduct brief, hands-on workshops on composting or seed-ball making for participants during the event.
Collaborate with the reporting team to convert field data into environmental impact metrics (e.g., "Carbon sequestered," "Plastic diverted from landfill").
Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of ecology, waste management, or environmental science.
Ability to conduct field surveys and basic environmental assessments.
Environmental Science, Botany, Forestry, or Civil/Environmental Engineering students.
Deeply committed to environmental protection and scientific accuracy.
