Overview
Climate change disproportionately affects women, and women are often the most effective agents of change. This intern focuses on the gender aspect of the movement. You will work to ensure that women's voices are heard, their leadership is fostered, and Self Help Groups (SHGs) are economically integrated into the Planet Run value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Identify SHGs that can supply eco-friendly products (bags, food, medals) for the event, providing them income.
Run specific campaigns to encourage women and girls to participate in the run for their health and agency.
Identify and train "Green Sakhis" (women leaders) in the community to lead sustainability drives.
SEnsure that event venues are safe and welcoming for women participants.
Document and share stories of women champions in sustainability.
Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of gender issues in development.
Ability to connect with women from diverse backgrounds.
Social Work, Women's Studies, Sociology, or Development Studies students.
Fluency in the local language is critical for SHG interaction.
